W&L Volleyball Opens Season with 3-0 Sweep of McDaniel

LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team opened its 2010 season with a 3-0 victory over McDaniel on Friday evening at the Warner Center.

The Generals (1-0) cruised to the 3-0 sweep over the Green Terror (0-5), winning 25-4, 25-16, 25-20.
First-year outside hitter M.A. Boles (Houston, Texas/St. John's) with 14 kills and added six digs. Junior middle blocker Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) chipped in nine kills and eight blocks, while senior middle blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) added five kills, five blocks and four digs.
First-year setter Meghan Meleski (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) registered a team-high 22 assists and four service aces and sophomore libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) totaled 17 digs.
The Generals return to action in their second match of the W&L Invitational when they take on Averett at 8:00 pm at the Warner Center.
