FREDERICKSBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team was swept, 3-0, by Mary Washington on Saturday afternoon.
The Generals, now 5-10 on the season, fell 25-20, 25-9, 25-23 to the Eagles. This marks the first time that W&L has lost at least 10 matches in a season since finishing the 2000 campaign at 20-10 overall.
Senior setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission South) led W&L with 11 assists and 10 digs, while senior outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) paced with offense with six kills.
The Generals return to action on Wednesday when they host Lynchburg beginning at 6:30 pm.
