W&L Volleyball Sweeps St. Mary's (Md.), 3-0

ST. MARY’S, Md. -- Junior outside hitter Marah Schmitz
(Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) led the Washington and Lee volleyball team
to a 3-0 win over St. Mary’s (Md.) with a match-high 13 kills
on Saturday afternoon on day two of the Seahawk Invitational hosted
by St. Mary’s (Md.).
The Generals won 25-19, 25-15, 25-17 and improved to 19-12 on the
season.
Schmitz, who hit .500 for the match, also added a pair of blocks
for W&L. Senior outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa,
Fla./Tampa Prep) chipped in nine kills, as did junior middle
blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr).
Senior setter Megan Steinhardt (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) led
the team with 41 assists and first-year libero Cameron Hill (Tampa,
Fla./H.B. Plant) had 19 digs.
The Generals return to action on Saturday at 2:00 pm when they
take on Eastern.
