W&L Volleyball Win Streak Snapped by Salisbury, 3-0
ST. MARY’S, Md. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball saw
its 13-match winning streak come to a halt with a 3-0 loss to
Salisbury on the on the first day of the Seahawk Invitational
hosted by St. Mary’s (Md.).
W&L (18-11) fell 25-18, 25-17, 25-19 in losing for the first
time in nearly a month.
Junior outside hitter Marah Schmitz (Phoenix, Md./Dulaney) paced
the Generals’ offense with 11 kills, while junior middle
blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) chipped in 10
kills.
First-year libero Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) posted a
team high 14 digs and junior defensive specialist Summer Goldberg
(Marietta, Ga./Woodward Academy) added 12 digs. Senior setter Megan
Steinhardt (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) registered 27
assists.
The Generals return to action at 5:00 pm on Friday when they take
on Gallaudet.
