W&L Volleyball Wins 12th-Straight, 3-1 over Marietta
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team
improved to 17-10 overall with its 12th-straight win, 3-1 over
Marietta on Saturday afternoon at the Warner Center.
W&L (17-10, 7-2 ODAC) won, 25-23, 25-16, 30-28, 25-21 and has
not dropped a match since a 3-0 loss to Mary Washington on October
3.
Senior outside hitter Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep)
was one of three Generals to reach double-digits in kills as she
tallied a team-high 19 kills. Junior middle blocker Louise Brooks
(Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) notched 11 kills and sophomore outside
hitter Megan Daily (Birmingham, Ala./Mountain Brook) chipped in 10
kills. Phillips hit .421 for the match while Brooks came in at
.333.
Senior setter Megan Steinhardt (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park)
recorded 48 assists and first-year libero Cameron Hill (Tampa,
Fla./H.B. Plant) notched a team-high 19 digs.
W&L returns to the court on Wednesday when it hosts Roanoke
for senior night. Match time is set for 6:30 pm.
