W&L Volleyball Runs Win Streak to Nine, Sweeps Roanoke, 3-0
LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team
continued its winning ways by posting its ninth-straight win with a
3-0 sweep of Roanoke on Saturday afternoon at the Warner
Center.
W&L (14-10) defeated the Maroons (12-14) for the second time
in eight days, 25-15, 25-23, 25-14.
Senior outside hitter Rachael Philips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep)
paced the offense with 13 kills while hitting .433 and junior
middle blocker Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) added nine
kills and hit .500 for the match.
Senior setter Kristi Stevens (Overland Park, Kan./Shawnee Mission
South) led the team with 28 assists and 14 digs. First-year libero
Cameron Hill (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) added 11 digs and a pair of
service aces.
The Generals return to action on Tuesday when they travel to Mary
Baldwin for a 6:30 pm match.
