W&L Volleyball Stung by Emory & Henry, 3-2
EMORY, Va. -- The Washington and Lee
volleyball team dropped a 3-2 match at the hands of Emory &
Henry on Tuesday evening.
W&L (4-9, 2-2 ODAC) fell behind quickly, 2-0, and rallied to tie the match at 2-2, before ultimately falling in five sets, 25-18, 26-24, 24-26, 24-26, 16-14, to the Wasps (12-3, 1-2).
The Generals were led offensively by junior Louise Brooks (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr), who totaled 13 kills to go with five total blocks. Senior Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) added 11 kills and a team-high 21 digs, while senior Kelly Harrison (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb
School) chipped in nine kills and 16 digs.
Sophomore Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) contributed nine kills and added three block assists. Junior Jenna Finger (Homer Glen, Ill./Lockport Township) led the Generals with 47 assists and tied Phillips for the team lead with 21 digs.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Friday when they take on Randolph at 6:30 pm.
