ATLANTA, Ga. -- The Washington and Lee volleyball team was
defeated by Shorter, 3-0, on the first day of the Emory
Invitational on Friday afternoon.
The Generals (3-6), who fell 27-25, 25-20, 25-21, were hindered by 14 service errors and 25 attacking errors in the loss.
Senior Kelly Harrison (Knoxville, Tenn./Webb School) posted 11 kills and 10 digs for W&L, while senior Rachael Phillips (Tampa, Fla./Tampa Prep) added 12 digs and six kills.
Senior Megan Steinhardt (Cedar Park, Texas/Cedar Park) paced the Generals with 27 assists and sophomore Lindsey Dee (Tallahassee, Fla./Maclay School) had three service aces to go with four block assists.
W&L returns to action on Friday at 7:00 pm when it takes on No. 3 Emory.
