W&L Women's Track & Field in Action at SWAT Last Chance Meet

SWARTHMORE, Pa. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team had two runners set new personal bests on Monday at the SWAT Last Chance Meet.

Junior Lily Arnold (Jacksonville, Fla./The Bolles School) recorded a new career-best in the 800m with a time of 2:17.65. The Generals had two athletes compete in the 5,000m. Sophomore Samantha Yates (Birmingham, Ala./St. Paul's School) was 14th in 17:47.94, and sophomore Kirsten McMichael (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) registered a new personal best in 18:07.97.

In the long jump, senior Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) placed second with a leap of 5.45m (17'10.75"). She claimed fifth in the triple jump at 11.05m (36'3.00"). First-year Julia Moody (Houston, Texas/St. John's School) crossed the finish line in 5:05.67 in the 1,500m, and first-year Katie Bearup (Arvada, Colo./Ralston Valley) was right behind her in 5:08.11.

The Generals will send a select group of athletes to the Great Lakes Elite Meet hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Thursday.
