ANNAPOLIS, Md. — Junior Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) won three events and broke two school records to lead the Washington and Lee women's track and field team on Thursday at the Sweetheart Multi-Mix Madness hosted by Navy.
Lee won the 60m in a W&L record time of 7.94. It broke her own 60m record of 8.06, which she set on December 6, 2014. Lee won the 400m in a time of 57.50. Since the Sweetheart Multi-Mix Madness was held on a 200m banked track, any time in a race at or over 200m has to be converted to a 200m flat track time for W&L record keeping purposes. Lee's converted time was 58.27, which broke the school record of 58.83 set by Janey Fugate '15 on March 1, 2015.
Lee also won the long jump with a leap of 5.53m (18'01.75"). Senior Maggie Kleber (Beach Haven, N.J./Southern Regional) claimed seventh in the event at 4.76m (15'7.50").
In the 800m, junior Catherine Fonvielle (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) placed eighth with a time of 2:20.94, while first-year Maggie Seybold (Cockeysville, Md./McDonogh School) was ninth in 2:21.34.
First-year Samantha Yates (Birmingham, Ala./St. Paul's School) finished sixth in the mile (5:16.18), and classmate Kirsten McMichael (Eighty Four, Pa./Ringgold) took 10th with a time of 5:23.52. Sophomore Kaleigh Hinton (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park) crossed the finish line fourth in the 60m hurdles in 10.01.
The Generals return to action on Saturday, February 20, at the UCS Invite at the JDL Fast Track.
