MARIETTA, Ohio — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team had four individual winners to lead the Generals at the Marietta Open on Saturday.
Junior Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) took first in the long jump, while securing Top 3 finishes in three other events. In the long jump, she recorded a leap of 5.33m (17'06.00") to take the top spot.
Lee was third in the triple jump at 10.52m (34'06.25"). In the 200m, she placed third in 26.91, and in the 400m, Lee was second (1:00.82). Junior Kara Farroni (Willoughby, Ohio/Willoughby South) finished third in the 400m in 1:04.79.
Junior Catherine Fonvielle (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) won the 800m with a time of 2:26.86. First-year Maggie Seybold (Cockeysville, Md./McDonogh School) claimed third in the event in 2:28.77. In the 3,000m, sophomore Rachel Steffen (Coronado, Calif./Coronado) finished first with a time of 10:59.88.
Senior Kaela Fiutak (Skaneateles, N.Y./Skaneateles) cleared 3.00m (9'10.00") to win the pole vault. The 4x400m relay finished third in 4:22.52. The quartet consisted of first-year Jessica Rosenwasser (New York, N.Y./Convent of the Sacred Heart), Fonvielle, first-year Julia Yerger (Hawthorn Woods, Ill./Lake Forest Academy) and sophomore Kaleigh Hinton (Florham Park, N.J./Hanover Park).
The Generals next compete at the Christopher Newport Captains' Invite on January 22-23.
