FOREST, Va. — The Old Dominion Athletic Conference announced its weekly awards on Monday and Washington and Lee first-year Dana Lee (Nashville, Tenn./St. Cecilia Academy) was named the women's track and field Athlete of the Week for the week ending March 30.
Lee competed in four events at the Commonwealth Duals on Saturday, breaking a school record and notching two first-place finishes. She finished second overall in the triple jump, and her mark of 10.93m (35'10.50") broke the W&L record of 10.54m, which Lee previously held with Stacy Doornbos. Doornbos originally set the record in 2006.
Along with competing in the triple jump, Lee claimed the top spot in the 100m with a time of 12.90 and finished first in the long jump at 5.47m (17'11.50"). The mark in the long jump is the best leap in the ODAC this year and the seventh-best in Division III. Lee was also part of the 4x100m relay, which finished third in 50.96.
The Generals next compete on Saturday, April 12, at the Hopkins-Loyola Invitational.
