Fugate Competes at NCAA Women's T&F Championship

LA CROSSE, Wis. — Sophomore Janey Fugate (Atlanta, Ga./Whitefield Academy) competed in the 400 meter hurdles on Thursday at the NCAA Division III Women's Track and Field Championship hosted by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse.

Fugate finished 22nd in the prelims in a time of 1:05.78. Her mark did not advance her to the finals in the event. She was coming off an injury and had not competed since the Penn Relays on April 25. Fugate qualified for the championship with her school-record time of 1:02.45, which she set at the W&L Carnival on March 23.

She was the first W&L athlete to compete at the Outdoor NCAA Championship since Stacy Doornbos finished fourth in the heptathlon in 2009.

With the end of competition for W&L at the NCAA Track and Field Championship, the Generals concluded their season.
