LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team sent two competitors to the Lynchburg Multi-Event on Monday and Tuesday. Senior Marissa Thompson (Chatham, Va./Chatham) took third with 3,686 points in the heptathlon and junior Leigh Dannhauser (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) finished seventh at 2,950 points.
Following day one, Thompson was second with 2,541 points and Dannhauser was seventh at 1,885 points. Thompson had the top time in the 100H (15.42) and the 200m (26.60). She tied for fourth in the high jump at 1.42m (4'07.75"), and was third in the shot put with a throw of 9.17m (30'01.00"). Dannhauser came in eighth in the 100H (18.50), ninth in the 200m (30.42), tied for second in the high jump at 1.54m (5'00.50") and finished 10th in the shot put with a toss of 6.89m (22'07.25").
On Tuesday, Thompson jumped 4.44m (14'06.75") in the long jump, had a toss of 22.50m (73'10.00") in the javelin and ran 2:56.65 in the 800m. Dannhauser recorded a mark of 3.93m (12'10.75") in the long jump, 26.09m (85'07.00") in the javelin and finished in 2:59.44 in the 800m.
The Generals next compete at the Swarthmore Last Chance on Monday, May 13.
