LYNCHBURG, Va. — The Washington and Lee women's track and field team had three athletes compete at the Liberty Twilight Qualifier on Wednesday. The event consisted of competitors from Division I, II and III teams, who are looking to achieve qualifying times/marks for the NCAA Championship.
Competing for the Generals on Wednesday were senior Marissa Thompson (Chatham, Va./Chatham) in the 100H, junior Leigh Dannhauser (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) in the high jump and sophomore Jillian Katterhagen (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) in the pole vault.
Thompson finished sixth overall and first in Division III at 15.36. In the high jump, Dannhauser was fourth overall and tops in D-III at 1.51m (4'11.50"). The mark tied Dannhauser's season best. Katterhagen had the top jump in Division III and was ninth overall at 3.27m (10'08.75") in the pole vault.
W&L returns to action on Sunday, May 5, at the Duke Twilight.
