    Several Washington and Lee athletes have been selected to the Old Dominion Athletic Conference/Stellar One Sportsmanship Teams for the 2012 spring season.

    Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

    Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 185 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.

Having captured the 2009 Indoor ODAC Championship, just the second conference crown in school history, and finishing third at both the conference indoor and outdoor meets a season ago, the Generals, with a young, talented core of returnees and a promising stable of first-years, appear ready to challenge for the top spot in the league once again.
