LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's track & field team took part on the second day of the Liberty Open & Multi's on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Annelise Madison (Roca, Neb./Norris) highlighted the Generals' day with a first-place finish among all competitors in the 1000m. She won the event with a time of 3:08.89.
Sophomore Leigh Dannhauser (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) took second among Division III athletes in the high jump, clearing 1.53 meters and first-year Janey Fugate (Atlanta, Ga./Whitefield Academy) added a third-place finish in the 400m with a time of 1:01.69.
Junior Taylor Maxey (Poway, Calif./Bishop's School) took fifth in Div. III in the shot put with a mark of 10.31 meters and the 4x400m relay team of senior Natalie Stier (Alexandria, Va./Bishop Ireton), sophomore Lauren Woodie (Bluefield, Va./Graham), junior Paige Gance (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) and Madison took fourth with a time of 4:19.77.
The Generals return to the track on Saturday, when they take part in the CNU Vince Brown Invitational beginning at 9:00 pm.
