LYNCHBURG, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's track & field team took part in its second track meet of the New Year, opening the two-day Liberty Open & Multi's with several athletes in competition.
Junior Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) highlighted the Generals' individuals, as she took first among Division III competitors in the 5000m with a time of 18:48.
First-year Jillian Katterhagen (The Woodlands, Texas/The Woodlands) also recorded a first-place finish among Div. III athletes, as she recorded a height of 3.15m in the pole vault. Sophomore Alexandra Hagan (Tampa, Fla./H.B. Plant) added a second-place finish in the pole vault with a mark of 2.70m.
The full contingent of W&L athletes will take to the track at 2:00 pm on Saturday to wrap up the two-day event.
