W&L Women's Track & Field Takes Part in Moravian Invitational

BETHELEM, Pa. – The Washington and Lee women's track & field team wrapped up competition at the Moravian Greyhound Invitational on Sunday afternoon.

The Generals, in their final meet before the ODAC Championships, were led by first-year Lauren Woodie's (Bluefield, Va./Graham) fourth-place finish in the 400m. She finished with a time of 1:02.32.
Sophomore Marissa Thompson (Chatham, Va./Chatham) took fifth in the 100m with a time of 12.72 and first-year Kelsey McClary (Greenwood, Va./Western Albermarle) notched a ninth-place finish in the 100m hurdles in 16.31 seconds.
Other highlights for W&L included sophomore Paige Gance (Wilton, Conn./Wilton) recording a PR in the 400m hurdles with a time of 1:12.25, sophomore Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) covering the 1500m in 5:03.39 and sophomore Taylor Maxey (Poway, Calif./Bishop's School) recording an ODAC season-best mark of 37.19 in the discus. Maxey's finish in the discus was not immediately available.
Washington and Lee will return to the track when it opens the two-day ODAC Championships in Salem, Va., on Friday beginning at 3:00 pm.
