W&L Women's T&F in Action at Lafayette/Rider Winter Games

NEW YORK, N.Y. – Two school records were broken as the Washington and Lee women's track & field team took part in the Lafayete/Rider Winter Games at the New York Armory on Friday afternoon.

Sophomore Marissa Thompson (Chatham, Va./Chatham) set one of the new school records, posting a time of 26.28 in the 200m to earn a fifth-place finish. She also jumped 5.11m in the long jump.
The 4x800m relay team of sophomores Lauren Schultz (Hopkinton, Mass./Hopkinton) and Molly Ortiz (Ketchikan, Alaska/Ketchikan), and first-years Annelise Madison (Roca, Neb./Norris) and Bella Zuroski (Bemus Point, N.Y./Maple Grove), posted a school-record time of 10:20.12 and finished in fifth-place.
Schultz also ran 5:24.82 in the mile and Madison recorded a time of 2:23.94 in the 800m. First-year Lauren Woodie (Bluefield, Va./Graham) took eighth place in the 400m with a time of 1:01.04.
W&L returns to action next Saturday when it takes part in the Dickinson Invitational beginning at 10:00 am.
