LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's indoor track team was in action at the VMI Winter Relays on Saturday at the Cormack Field House.
The meet featured teams from Division I, II and III, with the women recording several Top-5 finishes amongst the D-III competitors.
Leading the way was sophomore Marissa Thompson (Chatham, Va./Chatham), who ran to a top finish in the 55 meter dash with a time of 7.53 seconds. First-year Kelsey McClary (Greenwood, Va./Western Albermarle) recorded a time of 9.19 in the 55 meter hurdles, good for second place.
In the field events, first-year Leigh Danhauser (Bronxville, N.Y./Bronxville) finished fourth in the pole vault with a distance of 2.45 meters, while sophomore Taylor Maxey (Poway, Caif./Bishop's School) took fifth in the 20-pound weight throw (11.44m).
