
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

The Washington and Lee women’s tennis team was defeated by No. 5 Emory, 5-2, on Sunday afternoon in NCAA Tournament third round action.

The seventh-ranked Washington and Lee women’s tennis won its opener in the 2012 NCAA Division III Tournament, defeating Ohio Northern in the second round by a score of 5-0 on Saturday at Emory University.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee University has claimed the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the ninth-straight year.
