W&L's Allison Hupalo Named ODAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week

FOREST, Va. -- Washington and Lee first-year Allison Hupalo (Weston, Mass./Weston) has been named the ODAC Women's Tennis Player of the Week for the week ending Feb. 19.

Hupalo helped the eighth-ranked Generals open the season 1-2, with both losses coming to NCAA Division I programs (Radford, James Madison), posting a pair of singles wins and one doubles win.

In the Generals 7-2 loss to Radford, she earned one of W&L's points with a 6-0, 6-4 win at No. 6 singles.

She notched a pair of wins in a 9-0 win over Bridgewater on Saturday, earning a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 1 singles and she teamed up with junior Sallie Griffin (Warrenton, Va./Highland School) to post an 8-0 win at No. 2 doubles.

The Generals return to action on Mar. 2, when they host Randolph-Macon at 4:00 pm and Virginia Wesleyan at 7:00 pm, while also sending a contingent of players to take on Johns Hopkins at the ITA Indoor Nationals hosted by DePauw University.
