W&L's Sonja Meighan Wins at ITA Small College Championships

MOBILE, Ala. -- Washington and Lee first-year women's tennis player Sonja Meighan (McLean, Va./Flint Hill) competed at day two of the ITA Small College Championships on Friday afternoon at the Copeland-Cox Tennis Center in Mobile, Ala.

Meighan defeated Ava Sadeghi of Vassar in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1.

With the win she advanced to the fifth-place match, where she will face Mackenzie Knoop of Trinity on Saturday morning at 8:30 am. Knoop advanced after defeating Kalla Schaefer of the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
