W&L's Lukas and Sadler Finish Sixth at ITA Championships
MOBILE, Ala. - Washington and Lee women's tennis players Lauren
Lukas (Manitowoc, Wis./Lincoln) and Trelsie Sadler (Wakefield,
R.I./Groton School) claimed the sixth spot in the women's Division
III doubles bracket on Friday at the Intercollegiate Tennis
Association (ITA) National Small College Championships, held at the
Copeland-Cox Tennis Center.
In the duo's first match of the day, they defeated the pair of
senior Elise Otto and sophomore Alyssa Roberg from Whitman College
in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.
Lukas and Sadler then went on to face the tandem of sophomore
Linden Li and junior Carmen Vaca Guzman from the University of
Chicago, who had defeated the duo of Megan Gaard and Marianne Barau
from Gustavus Adolphus, 6-4, 1-6, 10-7, in their earlier match.
The W&L pair fell to Li and Guzman, 6-3, 6-4, to finish in the
sixth spot for the tournament.
With Lukas and Sadler's final match at the Small College
Championships, W&L has now completed the fall portion of its
schedule.
