W&L Women's Swimming Posts Two NCAA "B" Cut Times En Route to Placing First at the W&L Invitational

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's swimming team finished in first out of six teams with a total of 1236.5 points at the final day of the W&L Invitational on Sunday evening at the W&L Natatorium.

Highlights From the Meet

  • The Generals took first-place in eight of the 13 events during both sessions in the final day of the meet. W&L also had seven second place finishes between the two sessions.
  • Sophomore Emily Hageboeck (Charleston, W. Va. / George Washington) led the way with two individual first place finishes. She set an NCAA "B" cut for the second time this season in the 200-yard breast with a time of 2:18.21. Sophomore Ali MacQueen (Memphis, Tenn. / St. Mary's Episcopal School) also earned a first place finish and set a "B" cut time in the 100-yard fly with a time of 56.00.
  • Junior Jordan Watson (Fayetteville, Ga. / Whitewater) and sophomore Kelly Amar (Mount Vernon, N.Y. / The Ursuline School) also had first-place finishes for the Blue and White. Watson took first in the 1650-yard free with a time of 17:51.86, while Amar claimed the top spot in the 200-yard fly with a time of 2:07.70.
