W&L's Kasoff Earns Swimmer of the Week Honors
FOREST, Va. – Washington and Lee first-year swimmer Lauren
Kasoff (Owings Mills, Md./Saint Paul's) earned Old Dominion
Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week
honors for the week ending Oct. 24.
Kasoff swam in eight events during two meets over the weekend,
recording five first-place, two second-place and one third-place
finish. She led the W&L women against Mary Washington on Friday
with first-place finishes in the 100 fly (1:01.71) and 200 IM
(2:16.18). Kasoff also swam the 200 fly, finishing third (2:15.95),
while helping the 200 medley relay squad to a second-place finish
(1:54.12).
At the ODAC relays on Saturday, she swam in four events, recording
three first-place finishes. She piloted the 3x50 fly (1:25.56), 100
dolphin kick (57.54) and 3x100 medley (3:16.32) relays to top
finishes, while taking second in the 200 medley relay
(1:56.93).
The Generals are currently 0-1 for the year, dropping their first
meet of the season to Mary Washington, while finishing first of
seven teams at the ODAC Relays. W&L returns to action on Friday
as it travels to Transylvania for a 7:00 pm meet.
