W&L Women Swim Past Gettysburg, 151-105

LEXINGTON, Va – The Washington and Lee women's swimming team claimed top finishes in 10 of the first 12 events before swimming exhibition in the final two events as it defeated Gettysburg, 151-105, on Saturday afternoon at Cy Twombly Pool.

Top finishers for W&L on the day included sophomore Delaney Rolfe (Dallas, Texas/Highland Park) with two event victories (200 free and 500 free), junior Jocelyn Cassada (Charlotte, N.C./Charlotte Country Day) finishing tops in the 100 back and 200 back, junior Katie Salvati (Roselle Park, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) taking the top spot in the 100 back and 200 back, sophomore Ann McCampbell (Oklahoma City, Okla./Casady School) with a first-place finish in the 1000 free and a second-place finish in the 500 free (5:29.53), first-year Lauren Kasoff (Owings Mills, Md./Saint Paul's) taking first in the 100 fly and second in the 200 fly, and junior Dana Fredericks (Yorktown, Va./York) with a top finish in the 100 breast and a second-place finish in the 200 breast (2:36.22).  Cassada, Fredericks and Kasoff were also members of the winning 200 medley relay squad.

The Generals (6-2) started the meet with a first-place finish in the 200 medley relay, as members Cassada, Fredericks, Kasoff and sophomore Izzy Brassfield (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day) recorded a time of 1:54.82.

W&L then started racking up individual victories, with McCampell in the 1000 free (10:58.64), Rolfe in the 200 free (1:59.39), Cassada in the 100 back (1:01.87), Fredericks in the 100 breast (1:10.64) and sophomore Brittany Ross (Chatham, N.J./Chatham) in the 200 fly (2:13.85).

The meet concluded with four additional individual event winners, including Brassfield swimming a time of 56.49 in the 100 free, Cassada touching in 2:15.42 in the 200 back, Rolfe finishing the 500 free in 5:23.33 and Kasoff recording a time of 1:02.89 in the 100 fly. The Generals swam exhibition in the final two events of the 200 IM and 200 freestyle relay as it cruised to the victory.

W&L returns to action next Saturday as it hosts Catholic and Marymount at 2:00 pm.
