W&L's Fredericks Named ODAC Swimmer of the Week

FOREST, Va. – Washington and Lee junior swimmer Dana Fredericks (Yorktown, Va./York) was honored as the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Women's Swimming Athlete of the Week for the week ending Nov. 14.

Fredericks swam in three events over the weekend, helping to lead the Generals to a 145-106 ODAC victory over Sweet Briar on Friday evening. She recorded first-place finishes in two individual events, including the 100 back (1:10.86) and 100 free (1:02.25).

Fredericks was also a member of the 200 free relay that recorded a time of 1:53.06, breaking a Sweet Briar pool record that had stood since 1984. She was joined on the relay by first-years Rebecca Lawrence (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) and Meredith Hardy (Cary, N.C./Athens Drive), and sophomore Izzy Brassfield (Greensboro, N.C./Greensboro Day).

The Generals are currently 3-1 on the season, and return to action on Saturday, taking part in the Franklin & Marshall quad dual.
