W&L Women's Swimming in Action at Seahawk Invitational
ST. MARY’S, Md. -- The Washington and Lee women’s
swimming team had several individuals compete at the Seahawk
Invitational on Saturday afternoon in an attempt to qualify for the
upcoming NCAA Championships.
Senior Lynn Bazzel (Atlanta, Ga./Lovett) took second in the 100
breast with a mark of 1:08.47 and was followed closely by
first-year Megan Bock (Holmdel, N.J./Holmdel), who took third with
a time of 1:10.29.
Senior Sarah Simpson (Charlotte, N.C./South Mecklenburg) took
first in the 100 free with a time of 53.85, while Bock notched
another third-place finish with a time of 55.93.
Sophomore Erin Schwartz (Laytonsville, Md./Stone Ridge Sacred
Heart) posted a time of 2:37.63 in the 200 breast as the only
competitor in the event and first-year Brittany Ross (Chatham,
N.J./Chatham) completed the 200 butterfly in 2:13.79 as the only
swimmer in the event. Ross also competed in a time trial in the 200
fly, posting a time of 2:12.00.
The Generals have no more meets scheduled for this season.
