W&L's Salvati Collects Weekly ODAC Honor

SALEM, Va. -- Washington and Lee sophomore swimmer Katie Salvati (Roselle Park, N.J./Mount Saint Mary Academy) earned the Old Dominion Athletic Conference Athlete of the Week honor for women’s swimming as announced on Monday afternoon.

Salvati placed second in two events (200 IM and 200 back) on Saturday at a double-dual hosted by Carnegie Mellon in Pittsburgh. She finished the 200 IM with a time of 2:19.71, while touching in with a time of 2:14.54 in the 200 back.

The women’s team defeated University of Rochester, 145-117, but fell to Carnegie Mellon, 165-92, at the meet and are now 4-3 on the season, including a 2-0 mark in the ODAC. The team will return to action Dec. 3-5 as it takes part in the University of Virginia Invitational in Charlottesville, Va.
