LEXINGTON, Va. – Senior midfielder Holley Beasley (Virginia Beach, Va. / Norfolk Academy) notched two goals to lead the Washington and Lee women's soccer team to 3-0 victory over Randolph-Macon at Watt Field on Saturday in the ODAC Tournament quarterfinals.
Sophomore forward Tricia Jessee (Roanoke, Va. / Patrick Henry) scored the first goal for W&L at the 12:31 mark when she beat junior goalkeeper Elizabeth Blanco (Ashburn, Va. / Stone Bridge). Beasley tallied the second goal in the 18th minute when she scored off a deflected shot. The Generals (14-1-1) took the 2-0 lead into halftime over the Yellow Jackets (9-8-1).
Beasley netted her second goal of the game three minutes into the second half when she scored off of a rebound. Sophomore keeper Hannah Moyer (Richmond, Va. / Deep Run) stopped a shot by Jessee, but Beasley drilled the loose ball into the net.
Junior goalie Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) played all 90 minutes in net and posted one save. Blanco played the first half in goal and also made one save. Moyer saw the last 45 minutes of action and recorded five saves.
For the contest, the Generals took 26 shots compared to the Yellow Jackets' six, and held a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
W&L will be back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Shenandoah in the semifinals of the ODAC Tournament.
