W&L Women's Soccer Defeats Sweet Briar, 1-0

LEXINGTON, Va. – First-year midfielder Caroline Hahn (Richmond, Va. / Douglas Freeman) scored the game-winning goal for the Washington and Lee women's soccer team on Wednesday afternoon in a 1-0 victory over Sweet Briar at Watt Field.

W&L (6-0-1, 4-0) and Sweet Briar (4-2, 1-2) played a scoreless first-half and went into halftime notched at 0-0. Hahn netted the only goal of the game at the 60:37 mark to secure the win for the Blue and White. It was the fourth tally of the season for Hahn. 

Junior goalkeeper Addie Healy (Waterford, Va. / Woodgrove) saw all 90 minutes in net for the Generals without facing a shot on goal for her fifth straight shutout. Junior keeper Katie Tillson (Mechanicsville, Va. / Atlee) posted seven saves while playing all 90 minutes for the Vixens.

W&L out-shot Sweet Briar, 36-0, and held an18-0 advantage in corner kicks. Sophomore defender Hollis Tardy (Dallas, Texas / The Hockaday School) led the Generals with seven shots. 

Washington and Lee returns to action on Saturday when it travels to Randolph for a 1:30 pm contest.
