LEXINGTON, Va. -- The Washington and Lee women's soccer team outshot Salisbury, 22-11, but was unable to capitalize as it played to a 0-0 draw with Sea Gulls on Sunday afternoon at Watt Field.
Despite outshooting the Sea Gulls (7-4-2, 2-1 CAC) 14-8 in regulation the Generals (11-1-1, 7-0 ODAC) couldn't find the back of the net, sending the match into extra minutes.
W&L continued to attack over both overtimes, with its best attempt coming in the 94th minute when Haley Ward (Federal Way, Wash./Federal Way) and Holley Beasley (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) took two shots on goal within seven seconds of each other, but their attempts fell short, as the game ended with the 0-0 draw.
Beasley and Lauren Abraham (Richmond, Va./Mills Godwin) led W&L with five shots, while Ward added three shots. For the game, W&L outshot GC, 22-11, and also owned a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
In net, sophomore Addie Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove) played all 110:00, recording three saves. SU keeper Michelle Conrad (Smithtown, N.Y./Smithtown East) played 65 minutes in goal and stopped six shots, while first-year Alesha Seifert (Easton, Pa./Wilson) played 45 minutes and made one save.
W&L returns to action on Wednesday, as they travel to Guilford for a 4:00 pm contest.
