EMORY, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's soccer team increased its winning streak in conference action to three with a 3-0 win over Emory & Henry Tuesday evening at Fred Selfe Stadium.
With the victory, W&L improved to 5-1 (3-0 ODAC) on the season and E&H fell to 2-5 (1-2 ODAC) overall.
Junior forward Jasmine Soo (Charleston, W.Va./Culver Academies) led the Generals with two goals in the contest. Soo's first goal came in the 51st minute, allowing W&L to go up 2-0. At the 72:48 mark, she used a cross sent from sophomore midfielder Emily Scott (Port Murray, N.J./West Morris Central) to net in her second tally of the game and gave W&L its final 3-0 score.
Sophomore midfielder Haley Ward (Federal Way, Wash./Federal Way) started the Generals' scoring with a goal from a penalty kick in the 24th minute, putting W&L up 1-0 early on.
The Generals held an advantage over the Wasps in both total shots and corner kicks, earning a 20-3 lead in shots and a 5-1 edge in corner kicks.
In goal for the Blue and White was first-year Addie Healy (Waterford, Va./Woodgrove), who registered no saves and no goals-against while spending 90:00 in the game.
E&H goalkeeper Sarah Jerome collected eight saves and three goals-against while protecting the net the entire game for the Wasps.
W&L returns to action on Saturday when it hosts #14 Virginia Wesleyan for a 3:00 pm contest.
