LYNCHBURG, Va. – Sophomore forward Angela Bosco scored off an assist from junior midfielder Shelley Hoath in the 21st minute to lead top-seeded Lynchburg College to a 1-0 win over fifth-seeded Washington and Lee in the semifinals of the ODAC women's soccer tournament on Wednesday evening at Shellenberger Field.
The Hornets held a 20-5 advantage in shots and an 8-3 edge in corner kicks in improving to 18-2-1 on the season. Senior goalkeeper Jackie Bader posted one save in 90 minutes to preserve the Hornets' 15th shutout of the season.
Senior Emily Leary (Cincinnati, Ohio/King's) played the duration in goal and stopped four shots for the Generals, who fell to 13-4-2 on the season.
Washington and Lee will now wait to see if it receives an at-large bid to the NCAA Tournament. Lynchburg moves on to Saturday's ODAC finals, where it will meet second-seeded Virginia Wesleyan for the league title.
