W&L Women's Soccer Runs Past Randolph, 8-0

LEXINGTON, Va. – Washington and Lee first-year midfielder Katherine Rush (Cornelius, N.C./Providence Day School) netted a hat trick as the women's soccer team ran past Randolph College, 8-0, on Wednesday afternoon at Watt Field.

Rush wasted no time finding the net, scoring an unassisted goal just 12 seconds into the contest. It was another 15 minutes until W&L (4-1-1, 1-0-1 ODAC) struck again, as first-year midfielder Holley Beasley (Virginia Beach, Va./Norfolk Academy) headed a corner kick from senior defender Page Minton (Bowling Green, Ky./Bowling Green) to extend the Generals' lead to 2-0 with 15:21 on the clock.

Both Rush and Beasley added another goal in the opening stanza, with Rush's coming in the 19th minute and Beasley's in the 32nd minute as the Generals took a 4-0 advantage into the break.

Junior defender Alex Todd (New Orleans, La./Isidore Newman School) started the W&L scoring in the second half as she redirected a corner kick from classmate Ainsley Daigle (Lafayette, La./Episcopal School of Acadiana), and Rush added her third goal of the contest just over one minute later to push the W&L lead to 6-0.
