W&L Women's Soccer Drops 1-0 Decision to Roanoke College
SALEM, Va. – Roanoke College forward Sarah Bradley tallied the game-winning goal in the second session of overtime as the Maroons topped the Washington and Lee women's soccer team, 1-0, on Wednesday evening at Kerr Stadium.
Bradley's maker came in the 104th minute of the match giving Roanoke (7-3-1, 4-0 ODAC) the conference victory over the Generals (3-3, 2-1 ODAC).
Both teams recorded 12 shots in the contest, with W&L holding a 7-1 edge in corner kicks.
Junior keeper Emily Leary (Cincinnati, Ohio/Kings) recorded 103:42 in net, stopping 5 shots. Roanoke netminder Lindsay Kooiman also recorded 103:42, tallying 9 saves.
The Generals return to action on Saturday as they host Sweet Briar for a 1:00 pm contest.
