W&L Women's Soccer Tops N.C. Wesleyan, 5-0

ROCKY MOUNT, N.C. – Five different Generals recorded a goal as the Washington and Lee women's soccer team topped N.C. Wesleyan, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon at Scalf Field.

Junior forwards Kat Barnes (Charlotte, N.C./Myers Park) and Anne Masich (Raleigh, N.C./Broughton), junior defender Page Minton (Bowling Green, Ky./Sayre School), sophomore defender Alex Todd (New Orleans, La./Isidore Newman) and sophomore midfielder Hannah Sackfield (Louisville, Ky./DuPont Manual) all recorded a goal for the Generals, who improved to 5-3 overall on the season.

Keepers senior Taylor Joosten (Chicago, Ill./St. Ignatius College Prep) and junior Emily Leary (Cincinnati, Ohio/Kings) split time in net for W&L, each recording a save.

With the victory, W&L Head Coach Neil Cunningam recorded his 200th career win. His all-time coaching record now stands at 200-60-23, including a 138-30-19 record in 10 seasons at W&L and a 62-30-4 record over six seasons at Savannah College of Art & Design.

The Generals return to action on Wednesday as they host Hollins for a 4:00 pm contest.
