W&L Wrestling In Action at W&L Fall Classic

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee wrestling team took on East Tennessee State and VMI on Saturday afternoon and posted a 16-1 combined record at the W&L Fall Classic.

W&L's only loss on the day was in a match featuring a pair of Generals as first-year HT Kochinian (Lowell, Mass./Belmont Hill) defeated sophomore Brian Ross (Brick, N.J./Christian Brothers Academy), 8-3, at 149 pounds.
Ross won his other match, via fall at 1:03, over Cody Charles of ETSU, while Kochinian was also victorious in his second match, 18-6, also over Charles. For Ross, it was his first collegiate win.
First-year George Cauffman (Malvern, Pa./Westtown) also won his first collegiate match at 133 pounds, earning a win via fall at 2:16 over Corey Thweatt of ETSU.
Also posting perfect 2-0 records for W&L were junior David Dennis (Sherman, W.Va./Ravenswood) at 165, first-year Brandon Stuben (Saddle River, N.J./Northern Highlands Regional) at 125, senior Keith Jaworski (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) at 174, first-year Jordan Yost (Fairfax, Va./Fairfax) at 184, Eric Fessel (Rockville, Md./Georgetown Prep) at 141 and junior Sam Campbell (Winnetka, Ill./New Trier) at 133.

The Generals return to the mat on December 3, when they part in the Messiah Petrofes Invitational beginning at 12:00 pm.
