
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 15 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior soccer player Kat Lawson (White Post, Va./Clarke County) and senior football player Charlie Westfal (New Canaan, Conn./New Canaan), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

Six members of the Washington and Lee women’s lacrosse team have received All-Old Dominion Athletic Conference honors, including senior midfielder Christina Benedetti (Derwood, Md./Academy of the Holy Cross) being selected as the Player of the Year, as the league announced the all-conference teams on Tuesday.

The Old Dominion Athletic Conference has announced that Washington and Lee University has claimed the Dan Wooldridge Overall Sports Champion Cup for the ninth-straight year.

Mary Washington scored the first nine goals of the second half to produce a 16-8 victory over Washington and Lee in the first round of the NCAA Division III Women’s Lacrosse Tournament on Wednesday afternoon at the Battleground Athletic Complex.
