INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) announced its 2012 Division III Women's Lacrosse Tournament field on Sunday evening and the Washington and Lee women's lacrosse team will travel to Mary Washington for first-round action.
Winners of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference, W&L will face the Eagles from the Capital Athletic Conference, with the game set to begin at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, May 9.
The Generals are currently holding a 15-4 overall record and are ranked 15th in the most recent edition of the IWLCA Top 20 National Poll. UMW is ranked 11th in the poll, notching a 13-4 record, after falling to No. 10 York, 6-9, in the CAC Tournament Semifinal round.
Earlier this season, the Eagles traveled to W&L, defeating the Generals, 13-5.
The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to regional play on Saturday and Sunday, May 12-13, at SUNY Cortland. They will face the winner of the SUNY Cortland-Castleton first round game.
