W&L's Donnelly Receives NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship
The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced that Washington and Lee senior women’s field hockey and lacrosse player Kate Donnelly (Houston, Texas/St. John’s) is one of 29 Division I, II and III female athletes selected to receive an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for participation in a spring sport.

Mathews and Kurkis Highlight Major Award Winners at W&L
Washington and Lee University held its annual Athletic Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 17 at Lee Chapel. Headlining the award winners were senior field hockey/lacrosse player Emmy Mathews (Baltimore, Md./Bryn Mawr) and senior football player Greg Kurkis (Roswell, Ga./Westminster), who were selected as the “Pres” Brown Outstanding Senior Female and Male Athletes of the Year as voted on by members of the department.

Washington and Lee University has announced the 24th class to be inducted into its Athletic Hall of Fame. The class includes former golfer Jack Vardaman ’62, former football player Kevin Weaver ’87, former women’s lacrosse player Brooke Glenn Mullin ’97 and former men’s soccer player Mikel Parker ’99.

Washington and Lee Director of Athletics Jan Hathorn has announced that 173 students earned Scholar-Athlete awards during the recently completed winter term. The students are all members of W&L athletic teams and achieved a grade-point average (GPA) of at least 3.500.
