Two Generals Selected To Play In Women's North-South Senior All-Star Game

WEST HYANNISPORT, MASS. -- The Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse
Coaches Association (IWLCA) has announced the rosters for the 2009
Division III women's North-South Senior All-Star game, which will
be held on Sun., June 14 at the United Sports Training Center
(USTC) in Downington, Pa.
Washington and Lee senior midfielders Kelsi Robinson (West Chester,
Pa./Westtown) and Colleen Evans (Lexington, Va./Rockbridge County)
have both been selected to compete for the south squad.
A Third Team All-America, First Team All-Region and First Team
All-ODAC selection each of the past two seasons, Robinson played in
17 contests this season and was third on the team in scoring with
41 points on 22 goals and a team-best 19 assists. Additionally, she
secured a team-best 39 draw controls, scooped up a second-best 42
ground balls and caused a second-best 18 turnovers. Robinson
finished fourth on the W&L career scoring list with 205 career
points on 104 goals and 101 assists. Her 101 assists also rank
second on the all-time assist list.
Evans collected Second Team All-Region and Second Team All-ODAC
laurels this year after starting 17 games. She recorded 31 points
on 25 goals and six assists and secured a second-best 34 draw
controls. In her three seasons at W&L after transferring from
Division I Bucknell, Evans started 54 games and registered 134
points on 96 goals and 38 assists.
With Robinson and Evans being picked for the 2009 south roster,
W&L has now had 23 players selected to participate in the game
since 1993. Kelly Evans '07 and Maggie Megear '07 were the last
Generals tabbed to the south roster in 2007.
Washington and Lee completed the 2009 season with a 13-5 overall
record and a 7-1 conference mark. The second-seeded Generals fell
to top-seeded Roanoke, 11-9, in the ODAC championship game.
