INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) has announced its field for the 2017 Division III Women's Golf Championship and Washington and Lee junior Liza Freed (Alexandria, Va. / St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) has been selected to participate as an individual.
The field is comprised of 22 teams and six individuals that will compete across four rounds held from May 9-12 at the Bay Oaks Country Club in Houston, Texas.
Joining Freed as individual selections were Christina Herbert of Bridgewater, Carolyn Ordian of Redlands, Sydney Weaver of Berry, Samantha Haubenstock of Washington (Mo.) and Johnna Beehner of Methodist.
Freed is ranked seventh in the Golfstat Division III rankings this season and she carries a 75.43 scoring average across 14 rounds played. She was injured and did not compete in the ODAC Championship held last week at the Wintergreen Resort.
A three-time All-ODAC selection and Honorable Mention All-American across her first two seasons as well, Freed will be competing in the NCAA Division III Championship for the third time in her career. She placed in a tie for 18th at NCAA's each of the last two seasons.
