W&L's Freed Shoots 78 in Day Two of the NCAA Championship

HOUSTON, Texas – Washington and Lee junior Liza Freed (Alexandria, Va. / St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) shot a second round score of 78 (+6) on Wednesday to move into a tie for 47th-place out of 116 golfers at the NCAA Division III Championship held at the Bay Oaks Country Club.

Freed moved up 18 spots from her first-round placing, shaving six strokes off her total from Tuesday for a two-day score of 84-78—162 (+18).

Bridgewater's Christina Herbert moved into first-place on Tuesday with a -3 score of 69.  She has a one stroke lead with a two-day score of 74-69—143 (-1).  Rhodes continues to lead the team standings with a two-day total of 301-300—601.  The Lynx lead George Fox by five strokes.

Action continues on Thursday with the third round from Bay Oaks.  Freed will tee off the back nine starting at 1:45 pm central time.
