W&L's Freed Moves up to a Tie for 18th at NCAA's

HOUSTON, Texas – Washington and Lee sophomore Liza Freed (Alexandria, Va./St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) shot a +4 round of 76 on Thursday and moved up to a tie for 18th-place out of 109 golfers at the NCAA Division III Women's Golf Championship held at the Bay Oaks Country Club.

Caroline Ordian of The Redlands took over the individual lead with a +2 score of 73-70-75—218.  Wittenberg's Macy Hubbard shot a 79 on Thursday to surrender the lead that she had held since Tuesday.

Freed is 14 strokes in back of Ordian with a three-day score of 79-77-76—232 (+16).  She placed three birdies on the scorecard on Thursday, finishing strong with and one-over par 37 on the back nine.

Rhodes College holds a 15-stroke lead over Texas-Tyler in the team competition.  The Lynx currently have a score of 312-298-294—904 (+40).

Action continues on Friday with the fourth and final round from Bay Oaks.
