SANDESTIN, Fla. – The Washington and Lee women's golf team is in eighth-place out of 18 teams following the second day of competition at the Golfweek Fall Division III Invitational held at the Baytowne Golf Club on Monday.
Sewanee and Texas-Tyler are tied for the tournament lead with scores of 618 (+42). Sewanee shot 309-309—618 and UT-Tyler has posted 315-303—618.
Washington and Lee shot a 321 on Sunday and followed with a 324 on Monday for a two-day score of 645 (+69).
Individually, UT-Tyler's Laura Lindsey leads the event with a -2 score of 74-68—142. Washington and Lee sophomore Caroline Holloway (Gainesville, Fla. / Oak Hall) is tied for 13th with a 76-80—156 (+12). Sophomore Mary-Frances Hall (State Road, N.C. / Elkin) is tied for 27th with an 82-77—159 (+15) and sophomore Liza Freed (Alexandria, Va. / St. Stephen's & St. Agnes) is tied for 52nd with an 81-85—166 (+22).
Senior Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley) carded an 82-88—170 (+26) to rank in a tie for 64th and sophomore Dana Droz (Lancaster, Pa. / Veritas Academy) is tied for 66th with a two-day score of 89-82—171 (+27).
The event concludes on Tuesday with the third round from Sandestin, Fla.
