W&L Women's Golf Places Third at ODAC Championships
CONOVER, N.C. – The Washington and Lee women's golf team finished with a 360-360-355—1075 to place third out of three teams at the 2014 Old Dominion Athletic Conference Championships held at the Rock Barn Golf Club.
Randolph-Macon claimed the team title with a three-day score of 347-336-336—1019. Bridgewater shot 352-358-346—1056 to finish in second-place.
Individually, R-MC's Olivia Bowling claimed the championship with a 77-73-77—227 (+13). Hollins' Elizabeth Cheng was second of 18 competitors with a 79-81-76—236, while W&L sophomore Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) placed third with a 80-78-83—241.
Sophomore Lydia Barit (Paget, Bermuda / Middlesex School) placed second on the team and tied for 11th overall at the championship with an 88-90-93—271.
Sophomore Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley), first-year Katelyn Degnan (Saint Petersburg, Fla. / Canterbury School) and sophomore Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) finished 14th, 15th and 16th, respectively. Moir carded a 95-95-91—281, Degnan notched a 97-97-88—282 and Kasica posted a 102-97-93—292.
With the completion of the conference championship, the Generals have concluded the 2014 campaign.
