W&L Women's Golf Finishes Fourth at Generals Invitational
LEXINGTON, Va. – The Washington and Lee women's golf team finished fourth out of five teams at the Generals Invitational on Tuesday afternoon at the Lexington Golf & Country Club.
The Generals carded a 390-375—765 and finished behind team champion Methodist University (321-311—632), Randolph-Macon (342-349—691) and Bridgewater (362-358—720). Stevenson (432-451—883) finished fifth overall.
Individually, Methodist's Kelsie Carralero was the medalist, posting a score of 76-77—153 (+9).
Washington and Lee was led by sophomores Rachael Wright (Roanoke, Va. / North Cross) and Sara Moir (Roanoke, Va. / Hidden Valley), who both tied for 19th-place out of 37 competitors. Wright shot 91-84—175 and Moir registered a 92-83—175.
First-year Katelyn Degnan (Saint Petersburg, Fla. / Canterbury School) placed 30th with a 105-97—202 and sophomore Nicole Kasica (Greensboro, N.C. / Northern Guilford) finished 32nd with a 102-111—213.
Washington and Lee returns to action on Sunday when it takes part in the Bridgewater Fall Invitational held at the Lakeview Golf Club in Harrisonburg, Va.
